IPC-A-610 CIT Certification & Recertification Course
The IPC-A-610 is the most widely used electronics assembly standard in the world for post assembly and inspection. The IPC-A-610 illustrates industry-accepted workmanship criteria for all three classes of electronics assemblies through full color photographs and illustrations.
 
  • The CIT Certification Course is a 28 hour "Train-the-Trainer" course where an extensive paragraph-by-paragraph review of the IPC-A-610 Specification is provided.
    Topics covered include Handling Electronic Assemblies, EOS/ESD Requirements, Mechanical Assembly Requirements, Inspection & Identification of Solder Anomalies for both Leaded and Lead-Free Solders, Soldering Criteria for TH (Through-Hole), SM (Surface Mount), Discrete Wiring Assemblies, & Terminal Connections, Component Mounting for TH & SM, Component Damage Identification, Laminate, Marking, Cleanliness, Coating Conditions, and Skills for teaching the lesson plan effectively.
    Typically this course is completed within the alloted time with good English skills, which is required in order to pass the course certification tests. At the conclusion of the Course, students will be subjected to open and closed book multiple choice examinations, where an overall score of 80% is required in order to achieve certification.

IPC J-STD-001 CIS Certification Course
  • The IPC J-STD-001 CIS Course is modularized with 5 different modules. The course is a comprehensive 16 to 40 hour course depending on the number of modules being taught. Typically this course can be accomplished in 2 to 5 days (depending on level of class knowledge and English skills). All students must be trained to Module 1. Modules 2 through 5 can be taught based on students need to know. Modules 2 through 4 includes a soldering lab where the students shall assemble and solder workmanship samples that must meet J-STD-001 acceptability standards. At the conclusion of each Module & Solder Lab, students will be subjected to open book multiple choice examinations. Students will receive a "Certified IPC Specialist" (CIS) certificate with a score of 70% or better on classroom multiple choice exams and a score of 70% or better on soldering demonstrations.

IPC J-STD-001 CIS Recertification Course
  • The IPC J-STD-001 CIS Re-Certification Course covers all 5 Modules. Module 1 is mandatory. All other modules are optional. The course is a comprehensive 4 to 20 hour course depending on the number of modules being taught and the students recertification needs. Typically this course can be accomplished in 1/2 to 2.5 days (depending on level of class knowledge and English skills). Modules 2 through 4 includes a soldering lab where the students shall assemble and solder workmanship samples that must meet J-STD-001 acceptability standards. At the conclusion of each Module & Solder Lab, students will be subjected to open book multiple choice examinations. DFM for CCA Made Easy
  • Training Course Reviewing the Entire Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Process, Manufacturing Equipment Capabilities, and Design Requirements Needed for a Manufacturable CCA. This Training course will give the student a better understanding of the entire CCA and DFM process. Course is 4 hours.

Lead Free Process Development
  • Training Course reviews the necessary requirements for PCB Fab materials, manufacturing materials & equipment, and process development based on the metallurgy of the Lead Free solder formula to be used. The reason Tg of PCB materials are important in a Lead Free process are covered, Eutectic VS Non-Eutectic Solders are covered and what are the pitfalls to watch out for during process development with the various lead free formulas.
